Why I Stand for Keto vs. Ozempic and Other Unhealthy Diets

If you research the Keto diet, it’s likely you’ll end up confused and conflicted on what and who to believe. There is so much misinformation online about Keto. I stand for Keto. It’s worked for me and for hundreds of women I’ve worked with for over 5 years. It isn’t a “fad” diet and isn’t unhealthy. It’s based on science. It’s proven to be one of the fastest ways to lose weight. Yet, did you know it’s a health diet first and foremost. Weight loss is simply a benefit.

There are so many diet plans to choose from and now we’ve added in unhealthy options like Ozempic and similar drugs that are luring in women in huge numbers. Many women are failing to look at the side effects: such as persistent nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain and constipation and death. Or, allergic reactions, changes in vision and pancreatitis. Ozempic has an FDA boxed warning for the risk of thyroid C-cell tumors. I’m here to tell you that Keto can do ALL that Ozempic can AND MORE and in a healthy way.

Ozempic is used for diabetes, prediabetes and lower sugar. So is Keto. The Keto diet is an eating plan that focuses on foods that provide healthful fats, adequate amounts of protein, leafy green veggies, dairy and cuts back on carbs. The diet works by depleting the body of its sugar reserves. As a result, it will start to break down fat for energy and once you make ketones your body uses that for fuel. It’s that simple.

Why Did I Choose Keto?

Why am I so passionate about Keto? I was desperate to heal myself without any medication and I was suffering with prediabetes, Gerd, migraines, plantar fasciitis, and very overweight. I reversed my A1 c from being almost diabetic back to a normal range in 3 months. My energy came back, my spunk, creativity, and zest for life as I became healthier and losing weight. I lost 45 pounds, and my health problems are gone for almost 5 years now. My brain works faster, better and with more focus. I have more confidence. Life is fun again :) That’s why I’ve put my passion into Keto coaching full-time. I'm dedicated to serve and inspire other women to get their life back, gain vitality and lose weight in a healthy way.

What Does Keto Do Besides Weight Loss

It’s great to lose weight on Keto but what else does it do? There are so MANY positive health benefits to Keto and here are just a few:

May reduce risk of certain cancers

I stand behind Keto's research and science. Researchers have examined the effects of the ketogenic diet in helping prevent or even treat certain cancers. It’s been proved that the Keto diet may be a safe and suitable complementary treatment to use alongside chemotherapy and radiation therapy in people with certain cancers. The keto diet reduces blood sugar and lowers the risk of insulin complications. Insulin is a hormone that controls blood sugar that may have links to some cancers. It’s been proven time and time again that cancer loves sugar.

May improve heart health

I stand for a healthy Keto diet. It’s important to choose healthy natural nutrient dense foods. Keto isn’t all bacon and butter all the time. That’s another myth. When you eat fats, they are natural and healthy like olive oil and avocado oil vs. less healthy fats. Healthy fats can help improve heart health by reducing cholesterol. Who Knew?

The positive effects of Keto and improved heart health depend on you and what you choose to eat.

May protect brain function

Ketones used for fuel during the Keto diet have neuroprotective benefits, which means they can strengthen and protect the brain and nerve cells. Dementia and Alzheimers are now commonly known as type 3 diabetes. The Keto diet is being used to prevent or manage these conditions.

May improve PCOS symptoms

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal disorder. A high-carbohydrate diet can cause adverse effects in people with PCOS, such as skin problems and weight gain. It’s been proven that a Keto diet improved several markers of PCOS such as hormone balance, weight loss and fasting insulin levels.

Bottom line: Keto has significant health benefits in a variety of areas, from metabolic health to heart and brain health, and more. As studies continue and more is understood about the body’s reaction to the Keto diet and how it can leverage wellness, there will surely be more discoveries of the benefits of the high-fat, moderate-protein, low-carb lifestyle.
